Work Programme

Maximise attendance at the 2007 Annual Labour Party conference by delegates from Constituency Labour Parties, especially those sympathetic to a more, active democratic Labour Party members, and to provide professional support.

Pre-Conference

1. consolidate and pool all Party related information about CLP delegates, solely for the purposes of the agreed GRASSROOTS UMBRELLA work programme
2. survey all CLPs to identify those that will not be sending delegates to Bournemouth and if so why not
3. establish national grassroots database of CLPs, LPs, Labour councillors, LP local government units, and affiliated trade union branches, solely for the purposes of the agreed GRASSROOTS UMBRELLA work programme.
4. assist participating with mailings and web-based communication if requested. Similarly efforts to encourage greater trade union involvement in CLPs could also be incorporated into this work programme, subject to funding.
5. provide non-partisan advice about Conference arrangements to all delegates sympathetic to a more, active democratic Labour Party through briefing packs provided by participating organisations and training sessions if requested
6. organise a Conference fringe programme

CONFERENCE

1. arrange high-profile get together and reception on Saturday night to welcome delegates and promote GRASSROOTS UMBRELLA member events throughout conference
2. produce guide to GRASSROOTS UMBRELLA member organisation fringe activities

ORGANISATION

1. Steering Group - comprising two representatives from each participating organisation to meet once a month to agree the Work Programme and staffing arrangements
2. Staffing - Labour Party volunteers with access to Internet and administrative support
3. Communications - A website has been established with links to all participating organisations own sites, which will be updated regularly.
4. Funding - Contributions in cash and kind from Labour Party members.
